This week I (Rachel) am taking over the blog to introduce you my right-hand lady, the most wonderful woman and latest team member of Scarlet River Management, Jaclyn Delnevo!
Born and bred in Dinas Powys, Cardiff, Jaclyn has had a more difficult upbringing than most, dealing with family illness from an early age and learning to raise her younger sister. At 18, she gave birth to her wonderful daughter Keri but, suffered with significant illness herself which led her to really evaluate what she wanted for herself and her young daughter.
Having always been interested in Business, Jaclyn enrolled in College and studied a BTECH which followed her into University completing a Bachelors in Business Management, specialising in Marketing. Jaclyn is now in her final year of her Masters Degree in Human Resources and is completing her Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (CIPD) course. [I want to quickly point out that she is doing this whilst raising two children, with a full time job, AND helping with Scarlet River Management!! #superwoman].
Having been furloughed during lockdown 2020, Jaclyn began to realise that she was really interested in learning about the business of the music industry and the processes behind the music. The more she researched this, the more she found a correlation between much of what she had been learning at University (and her marketing jobs) and really wanted to pursue this. Her previous experiences have allowed her to transfer these skills into what she does at Scarlet River Management (SRM). She now also finds that in her current role in Marketing, she is using the skills from blog writing and social media at SRM, she is incorporating here (How cool is that?!)

I had to be nosey and ask her why she wanted to be involved with Scarlet River Management as oppose to any other company... "You're the only one in Country, around the Cardiff area...AND I wouldn't get to see you all the time (she actually said this!!)". On a more serious note, the one thing that Jaclyn stressed is that you have to work with people that you trust.
Jaclyn's goals include finishing her Masters Degree and continuing to excel in her new marketing role. From a music perspective, she would like to continue to pushing new boundaries with SRM and finding new ways to invest in the company.
What advice would you give to people wanted to get involved in music and/or marketing?
"In the music industry, find those that you work well with. You need a support system and have those people around you."
It can be difficult sometimes and you will be let down, but continue to work hard for what you want! Jump right in! Get involved. Gain experience! And go for it!
